Fun fact: I love a good eyeshadow palette! I first developed a love for eyeshadow after becoming a full-time Beauty Editor working at a magazine. The beauty product mailings would come in droves and I would hoard the eyeshadow palettes to bring home for testing. I’d spend the weekend creating different looks with them. Of course, this was waaaaay before the days of Instagram and no one cared about beauty looks on MySpace, so there’s no real photographic evidence of my eyeshadow application prowess. Now that I’m a #singlemom, I definitely don’t have a ton of time to create and photograph lavish eyeshadow looks like the ones I admire on Instagram. But, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to give up! Maybe I don’t have time to create a red carpet look, but I still love applying it in the small windows of time that I do get. Also, I believe that this is the best test when it comes to deciding whether or not the palette is really worth your $$$.
I received Urban Decay’s NAKED Heat Palette in the mail for testing (thanks Urban Decay!) and love it. I recently went on a little vacation near the water (I liiiive for a good beach!) and brought it along. I applied and blended three shades (Lumbre, Dirty Talk and Scorched) onto my eyelids using the enclosed brush.
Then, I swiped on the Vice Lipstick in Heat (pictured above) before jetting off to dinner. I received so many compliments on my look that I just had to snap a #selfie and write this blog post to let you know that I think this palette is totally worth the splurge.
